Horror Stories I Heard When I Was a Child

This time I am sharing stories that I heard when I was a child. I don't remember the exact dates, years, or at what age I listened to these stories.

Because my memory is filled with so much stuff now, I don't keep a record of exact things that happened, but yes, I will narrate as much as I know.

My father narrated this story. He was not narrating directly to me but to my mother or someone else, maybe.

So the story is about one of his friends who was a drunkard. Maybe he used to drink so much that domestic fights were common in his house due to this reason.

One night, he and his wife were quarreling over this issue, and that man got so angry that he set himself on fire in rage. But after that, he realized his mistake when he began to burn.

He was screaming for help, and he ran toward the bathroom, opened the door, and turned on the tap for the water.

Sadly, he wasn't able to do this in time, and he succumbed to his injuries.

The locals were horrified to see what happened, and soon police got involved.

The case was registered as a suicide, and after all of the death rituals, his wife with her child left the house.

Now here begins the real story.

Because that house was empty now and no one was living there anymore. Rumors spread that the house was haunted.

But this was just a rumor. No one really saw anything paranormal.

All houses around this particular house were filled with lights at night, but this was the only house that remained in the dark.

One night, some guys who were finding a sole place to drink decided to stay at this house.

Since locals were afraid of this house, they thought this was the place they could sit, relax, and drink without anyone bothering them.

Around midnight, when everyone was sleeping in their homes, these people were enjoying the drinks and having their conversation.

Some time later, they all heard the sound of running water coming from the bathroom.

One of them got up, went to the bathroom, and saw the water running from the tap.

He shut the tap off, without thinking anything.

He closed the door, returned to his place, and sat, and started drinking again.

Now, this time, they all heard a scream that shocked them to the core. After the scream they all saw the bathroom door opening itself and the water tap turning on.

This scared them so much that they fled the scene and ran outside the place.

Since no local was awake except all of them, they decided to just run away far from this home.

So this was the story.

My father heard this story from those guys. My father didn't confirm the legitimacy of this story, but he narrated exactly as they told it.

I don't know if this is real or not, but if it is real, then surely that poor soul must be trying to repeat the act that could have saved him from the fire and pain, which he wasn't able to do at that time.
